Questions people ask before calling
Is it just low on Freon?
Sometimes, but refrigerant doesn't get used up — if it's low, there's a leak. A good shop finds the leak instead of just recharging.
How much does car AC repair cost?
A leak test and recharge is usually the cheapest fix; a compressor replacement costs much more. Ask for the diagnosis before approving parts.
Should I use a DIY recharge can?
Overcharging can damage the system. If a can didn't fix it, have a shop test it properly.
